EarPlay: Multifunction Smart Headphones

Untitled Document
Designer: Che-Yu Lu

You have heard of headphones like active noise cancellation, 3D surround etc. This time you need to meet something different.

No, when I say different, I do not mean that the headphones are extraterrestrial. They are very much Earthly but Lu had a different concept. He wanted to make headphones which are more than headphones.

These headphones can play sound as usual but they have some other qualities too. They have built-in MP3 player with volume control, play and pause etc. Now that you have an MP3 player integrated into the headphones, you will need to feed it with songs. This can be done in two ways:
  • There is a standard 3.5 mm jack at one side, which can be used to transfer songs from some device to the headphone.
  • There is an USB jack on the other side of the headphone, which can also be used for transferring songs to the headphone from some other device.
You can also attach the headphone to an external MP3 player, if you prefer to do so, and listen from that player instead of the integrated one. You can alternately, connect the headphone to a speaker and use the integrated MP3 player for music. The cord that is provided will have a standard USB connector at one end and a standard 3.5 mm audio jack on the other end. This cord can be used to connect two headphones for music sharing. Take a look at the images below and you will understand the concept. I promise, it is simple!
