Comfort Bath: It’s Human Ergonomics

Designer: Vergillio Serra

Bath tubs are always comfortable, aren't they? Designer Serra also came up with a concept design for a bath tub that is comfortable. The uniqueness of the design lay in the fact that it incorporates the unique ergonomic contour of human body.

The cross-section of the Comfort Bath comes with a unique W shape but with no sharp corners. This shape ensures that even if you fall asleep by accident, you do not collapse into the water in your curved position.

Because of two distinct troughs, babies can be bathed without having to fill up the Comfort Bath completely.

Here is what the designer says about this creation:

"Comfort has an integrated tap allowing water to come up into the two regions of the bath. While visually sleek and clean, this is another safety feature as research shows that taps are a common source of bumps and injuries – particularly to the elderly and the young. The bath overflow system prevents water spilling on to the bathroom floor and eliminates a major slip hazard. The design makes it easy to enter or exit the bath. The bath sides are lower and the sloping shape creates a raised edge for a convenient hand hold position."
